Leslie Courtois
Senior Conservator (Library of Virginia

Leslie studied printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design and Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy with Leonard Baskin before earning a Bachelor of fine Arts degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. She continued her studio arts studies at Parsons School of Design in Paris, France and studied chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Leslie joined the staff at the Etherington Conservation Services in 1994, and has headed the paper conservation lab located within the State Library of Virginia in Richmond since 1998. In 2004, she was awarded a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University after completing her internship in forensic imaging.

Leslie is a member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC), the Virginia Conservation Association, and the Hanover County and Chesterfield County Historical Societies of Virginia.
