Collection Maintenance Services

We offer economical rates for collection maintenance services to libraries and other collection-holding institutions which send shipments of at least fifty volumes for re-casing or rebinding with standard conservation procedures and materials.

Three categories of work are available.  Extensive mending of textblocks and other paper-conservation treatments are also available.

Cloth Re-case

New covers for volumes that are too fragile for commercial library binding.  These volumes can be rebound in buckram or C-cloth with black, white or gold stamping.

Cloth Repair

Repair of original case bindings in paper or cloth.  We use a method that we developed of layering Japanese paper with Irish linen for the repair of covers or the making of new spines.

Leather Repair

Repair of broken leather joints with our highly successful Japanese paper method.
