Conservator - Rare Books and Paper
Senior Rare Book and Paper Conservator – Brenda has been
with Etherington Conservation Services (formerly ICI
Binding Conservation Division) since its founding in
1987. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in
painting and printmaking from the University of North
Carolina, Greensboro in 1982.
Brenda has years of extensive experience in rare book
conservation and design binding. Having studied and
worked with Mr. Etherington for over 18 years, Brenda
brings exceptional talent to the conservation center.
She has attended advanced training programs and seminars
taught by Stuart Brockman, Glenn Bartley, Martin Frost
and Monique Lallier. She has also participated in many
international design binding competitions including the

is a Professional Associate of the American Institute
for Conservation (AIC), AIC Book and Paper Group, Guild
of Book Workers and The Society of Bookbinders.
