Kim’s career in bookbinding began in 1982.  Introduced to the world of hand bound books for artist producing fine press editions she worked and studied under the direction of Gray Parrot for five years.  Living and working in Western Massachusetts also provided opportunities for Kim to work and study with Peter Geraty, Daniel Kelm and Claudia Cohen.  The following fifteen years she maintained a private practice for small edition design binding, restoration, and teaching.  In this time her collaborations with contemporary artist has been shown at the New York Museum of Modern Art and other galleries in that city as well as internationally.

A hiatus from this career allowed her to pursue her degree in Anthropology from Mount Holyoke College and graduate work in Museum Studies at Middle Tennessee State University.  Her developed skills, education and experience are being put to good used as the Conservation Manager at Etherington Conservation Services Washington location.
